Selected Glass started from a simple idea: the person who measures, the person who manufactures and the person who installs should all answer for the same job.
Why we do our own fitting
In glazing, most problems do not come from the glass: they come from the chain. One person measures, another manufactures, a third installs, and when a piece does not fit each points at the one before. The client is left in the middle with a half-finished bathroom.
So we work with our own team from start to finish. If a measurement is wrong, it is ours. If hardware does not close, we come back. There is nobody to pass it to — and that, more than a brand value, is a way of forcing ourselves to get it right first time.
What 'made to measure' means to us
Made to measure is not choosing between three catalogue widths. It is arriving with a laser, finding that the wall leans by 14 millimetres, that the shower tray is out of square and that the tiling ate a centimetre in the corner — and manufacturing with all of that accounted for.
It also means saying no. If a balustrade cannot be anchored safely where you want it, if an enclosure will clash with your building's rules, or if your existing screen only needs an anti-limescale treatment rather than replacing, we say so. Losing a sale is cheaper than doing work that does not function.
Where we work
Our workshop is on Avinguda de Vidreres in Lloret de Mar and we serve a 30 kilometre radius: the whole southern Costa Brava, the upper Maresme and the La Selva county, as far as Girona city.
The radius is deliberate. We would rather be able to come back the next day to adjust a hinge than cover half of Catalonia and take three weeks to honour a guarantee.
Private clients and hospitality
Most of our work is for private clients: bathrooms, kitchens, terraces and staircases in local houses and flats. It is the work we enjoy most, because the result is visible every day.
Between November and March we also refurbish hotels in series along the coast, with a pilot room, batch manufacturing and floor-by-floor installation to meet the season opening.
Three things we don't negotiate
Fixed prices
The quote is the final price. If an unforeseen technical issue appears, we absorb it.
Safety over aesthetics
Where regulations call for laminated or toughened glass, that is what goes in. Even when the client would rather economise.
Honesty at the measuring visit
If the job is not worth it for you, we say so, even when that means selling nothing that day.
