A badly measured screen is something you notice every single day. That is why Selected Glass does not work from standard sizes: we come to your home, measure the tray, check whether the wall is plumb and calculate the real tolerance the glass needs. With those figures we make a screen that fits to the millimetre — even when the tiling runs off true or the tray is not rectangular.

We use 8 and 10 mm CE-marked toughened safety glass. It is the same glass specified in hotels: were it ever to break, it fragments into small pieces without cutting edges. Every screen leaves our workshop with a nanotechnology anti-limescale treatment applied at the factory, so water runs off instead of drying on the surface and cleaning comes down to one pass with a squeegee.

We make every format: single-panel walk-in, fixed panel with a hinged door, two- or three-panel sliders for narrow bathrooms, corner units for quadrant trays and bespoke solutions for baths. Fittings are stainless steel or solid brass in chrome, matt black, brushed gold or satin steel, so the screen complements your taps rather than fighting them.

Frequently asked questions

Ten to fifteen working days in most cases. The glass is made to measure and has to go through toughening, machining and the anti-limescale treatment before it leaves the workshop. If you have a deadline — a renovation, a season opening — tell us when you ask for the quote and we will confirm whether we can meet it.

Yes, and it is the most common situation in older buildings. We solve it with an adjustable wall profile that absorbs the lean, usually up to 15-20 mm. We check it with a laser level on measuring day and tell you before anything is made.

For panels up to around 90-100 cm wide, 8 mm is more than enough and it is what we fit as standard. We keep 10 mm for large fixed panels, walk-ins over 1.20 m, or when you want that solid-glass feel. The price difference is small and we itemise it in the quote.

Yes. We dismantle the old unit, remove it and take it to a licensed waste handler. It is included in the quote, not an extra.

Two years on fittings and installation, plus the manufacturer's guarantee on the toughened glass. If anything stops closing cleanly or starts to catch, we come back and adjust it at no charge.
